A financial crisis can happen to anyone.
These challenges are often due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a job loss or illness. New Jersey SHARES provides relief to people, who are not eligible for other types of assistance. New Jersey SHARES is the only statewide, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which provides grants to pay the utility bills of households in need through a statewide network of more than 213 community-based social service agencies operating out of 238 sites. Our Mission New Jersey Statewide Heating Assistance and Referral for Energy Services (New Jersey SHARES) is a non-profit organization charged with a mission to provide assistance to individuals and families living in New Jersey who are in need of temporary help in paying their energy bills.

The Fuel Merchants Association of New Jersey (FMANJ) and New Jersey SHARES are addressing the severe economic condition in New Jersey by teaming up. NJ SHARES will now be able to provide grant assistance to deliverable fuel customers. FMANJ works to keep people warm and NJS works to help keep that warmth affordable and within reach for individuals and families that are not eligible for state or federal energy assistance programs.
