Despite the large payment responsibility that NJ SHARES recipients faced after receiving a grant many were successful in meeting their bill obligations. NJ SHARES recipients paid an average of 98% of their current bills.

A financial crisis can happen to anyone. These challenges are often due to unforeseen circumstances, such as a job loss or illness. Through the generous support of our donors and funders, New Jersey SHARES provides relief to people who are not eligible for other types of assistance. NJ SHARES is a statewide, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides grants to pay the energy and utility bills of households in need, through the support of our donors and our statewide network of more than 270 community-based social service agencies operating out of 324 sites. Through education, information, referral, advocacy and community outreach we connect low and moderate income households with available resources.
